The Menorah was standing tall at the newly opened Chicago French Market located @ 131 N. Clinton in downtown Chicago's burgeoning West Loop. The Market was officially opened on December 13th by a respected Jewish family from France, the Bensidouns of Bensidoun USA, in partnership with Tom Wislow of U.S. Equities Realty from Chicago. Rabbi Benhiyoun a long-time friend of the Bensidouns, was invited to put up a Mezuzah for the Market offices the evening before the opening. L'chaim's were raised on good kosher Arak in preparation for the next days festivities. Mayor Richard M. Daley, Aldermen's Brendan Reilly, Vi Daley and TV celebrity Bill Curtis were some of the dignitaries present at the event. Chicago will finally have its first and only year-round, indoor marketplace providing permanent, convenient and personal access to local artisans and purveyors. Stay tuned for details regarding Kosher products available at the Market.
